Commitment: Approximately 2 hours per month, including attendance at monthly board meetings and occasional sub-committee meetings or events.

Role Summary:
Community Mind Connect is seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join our Board of Directors on a voluntary basis. As a Board Director, you will play a vital role in the strategic leadership, governance, and oversight of the organisation, working closely with the founder, THOMAS BURNS, who also holds the position of Project Manager. This dual role means the founder has significant influence on the organisation's direction and operations, and your input and expertise will be valued in shaping its strategy and ensuring its continued success.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Contribute to the development and implementation of CMC's strategic plan, vision, and mission.
Governance: Ensure the organisation operates within its governing documents, legal requirements, and best practice guidelines.
Financial Oversight: Participate in reviewing and approving budgets, financial reports, and ensuring the responsible management of resources.
Risk Management: Identify and assess potential risks to the organisation and contribute to the development of mitigation strategies.
Policy Development: Contribute to the development and review of organisational policies and procedures.
Board Meetings: Attend and actively participate in monthly board meetings, contributing constructively to discussions and decision-making.
Sub-Committee Involvement: Potentially participate in sub-committees focused on specific areas such as fundraising, marketing, or program development.
External Representation: Act as an ambassador for CMC, representing the organisation at external events and fostering positive relationships with stakeholders.
Fundraising Support: Support the organisation's fundraising efforts, leveraging personal networks and expertise where appropriate.
Commitment to Mission: Demonstrate a strong commitment to the mission and values of Community Mind Connect.
Person Specification:
We are looking for individuals who possess a combination of the following skills, experience, and qualities:
Essential:
A strong commitment to the mission and values of Community Mind Connect.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to think strategically and contribute to high-level discussions.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Integrity, impartiality, and a willingness to act in the best interests of the organisation.
Willingness to dedicate the necessary time and effort to the role.
Desirable (Experience in one or more of the following areas):
Financial management and accounting.
Legal and regulatory compliance (charity law experience is a plus).
Fundraising and income generation.
Marketing and communications.
Human resources and volunteer management.
Experience working with community groups or the voluntary sector.
Lived experience relevant to CMC's beneficiaries.
