Role Summary:
Community Mind Connect is seeking an enthusiastic and organised Events Assistant to join our team on a voluntary basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in event planning and contribute to engaging and impactful events for the Lancaster community. Working closely with the [Name of relevant person, e.g., Founder, Events Coordinator], the Events Assistant will provide crucial support in all aspects of event organisation and delivery, helping CMC connect with and inspire the local community.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Planning Support: Assisting with the planning and coordination of various CMC events, including workshops, exhibitions, community gatherings, and fundraising events.
Venue Research and Booking: Helping to identify and secure suitable venues for events, liaising with venue staff as needed.
Logistics Management: Assisting with the logistical arrangements for events, such as sourcing equipment, materials, and refreshments.
Supplier Liaison: Communicating with external suppliers, such as caterers, AV technicians, and printers.
Volunteer Coordination for Events: Supporting the recruitment, briefing, and coordination of volunteers assisting at events.
Marketing and Promotion: Assisting with the promotion of events through online channels (social media, website) and offline methods (flyers, posters).
On-Site Event Support: Providing hands-on support during events, including setup, registration, attendee management, and breakdown.
Budget Tracking: Assisting with tracking event expenses and ensuring events stay within budget.
Post-Event Evaluation: Supporting the collection of feedback and evaluation of events.
Administrative Tasks: Providing general administrative support related to event planning, such as creating schedules, managing RSVPs, and preparing documents.

Desirable Skills/Experience:
Experience in event planning or event management.
Familiarity with online event platforms (e.g., Eventbrite).
Basic knowledge of marketing and promotion for events.
Experience in coordinating volunteers.
Budget management skills.
First aid certification.

Desirable Requirements:
Experience in Event Planning or Support: Previous involvement in organizing or assisting with events, even in a non-professional capacity.
Knowledge of Event Logistics: Understanding of basic event elements such as venue booking, catering, AV equipment, and marketing.
Budget Management Skills: Ability to assist with tracking event expenses.
Social Media Awareness for Events: Understanding of how social media can be used to promote events and engage attendees.
Experience in Volunteer Coordination for Events: Ability to support and coordinate volunteers assisting with events.
Creativity and Ideas Generation: Willingness to contribute innovative ideas for events.
Local Knowledge: Familiarity with venues and resources in the Lancaster area.
First Aid Certification: (Depending on the nature of the events)
